LUNG CANCER-NON SMALL CELL

There are two main types of lung cancer
1.Non small cell lung cancer
2.Small cell lung cancer
The non small cell lung cancer also have different types there are as follows-
1.Squamous cell carcinoma
2.Adenocarcinoma
3.large cell carcinoma


Squamous cell carcinoma is also having another name called epidermoid carcinoma.

The most common risk factor of the non small cell lung cancer is smoking.smoking increases the risk of getting lung cancer day by day.If a person quits smoking the risk decrease but it never stops.the other risks are also present for example if a person is living in a area which is having lot of air pollution or exposure to chemicals like asbestos and chromium.

Steps which should be taken to diagnose the lung cancer are as follows-
1.x-ray examination
2.CT scanning
3.PET scanning
4.Fine needle biopsy
5.Thoracocentesis
6.Thoracotomy

Prognosis of the lung cancer depends on type of the lung cancer age of the patient and severity of the symptoms.
