Lung Cancer Treatment

The treatment of lung cancer depends on many factors as
1-age of the patient
2-type of lung cancer
3-stage of lung cancer

Sometimes the physician choses to treat only symptoms of the patient when he is not able to bear the side effects of the treatment.

The treatment includes-
1.surgery
2.chemotherapy
3.radiotherapy

surgery is the treatment of choice in non small cell lung cancer as this type of cancer is not having a spreading nature the part effected by cancer can be resected easily.But if we will have a look on the treatment of small cell lung cancer chemotherapy alone or combined with radiotherapy is prefered over radiotherapy.As small cell lung cancer often spreads fast beyond the lung boundaries.chemotherapy combined with radiotherapy is given to stop the division of the cancer cells.

There are some side effects realated to each type of therapy for example chemotherapy is related with digestive tract diturbances and fall of hair.Radiotherapy is related with local changes of skin on the part of exposure.
