There are three common tests used in the diagnosis of the diabetes:
1.The first test is known as fasting plasma glucose test the patient is instructed not to eat for at least 8 hours before the test.
2.The second test is called oral glucose tolerance test this test is done after 8 hours fasting and this type of test also demands drinking of a glucose drink 2 hours before the test.
3.The third test is known as random plasma glucose test this type of test does not need any fasting it can be done after the meals.
